Gold prize in the international competition Organic Wine Award International 2021 in Germany – in the category Natural Organic Wines – received the red wine 2011 (click here) of Org. Helession and filled us with pride!
This distinction is a moral reward and justification of our struggle for the production of long-lived wine, without chemicals and sulfites, based on ancient Greek patterns.
The judges trusted their senses and taking into account the analyzes they made of our wine ” Red Akratos Oenos”, evaluated its quality with 94 points out of 100 in total (the detailed results). Our wines are based on two very strong pillars: The ancient Greek heritage and the purity of natural winemaking.
The high in alcohol organic ‘akratos oenos’ by Helession has been made by red, natural vinification with wild/native yeast. No sulfites, taste additives or colors have been added. It has undergone neither protein precipitation nor filtering! Thus almost all polyphenols (luteolin, resveratrol, OPC) have passed into the wine body. Therefore, it forms part of the Mediterranean diet and of French paradox. Helession’s products from grape proved to be a very strong shield of health.
As the organizer characteristically states about the institution:
«Those who work with nature on a daily basis; with its cycles, caprices and mechanisms, are usually also well acquainted with change. Sometimes it comes slowly and sometimes unexpectedly; but as surely as every cloud has a silver lining. We at WINE SYSTEM, who have been organising the international organic wine award for more than a decade, also feel this change. And we have decided to shape it with our own enthusiasm and and according to our motto ‘Trust your Senses’. So now you will not only find our company in a new look; our largest PAR tasting also has a new design.
For it is in the interplay with the forces of nature, in the skilful union of ecology and craftsmanship, that quality is created. And quality is what convinces in the end; what moves and inspires people.
The jury, consisting of PAR® Certified Masters, works in teams of two and evaluates each wine individually and as part of a team. Whether a stylistically modern fruity white wine, a elegantly crafted terroir wine or an original orange, each wine receives transparent documentation of its sensory characteristics, which are evaluated in terms of origin, climate and style.
